Tadasuni

The church dedicated to San Nicola of Bari, in Neoclassical style built in dark limestone ashlars, is particularly worthy of note, as is also the Church of 'Santa Croce', erected in the XVIII century. The 'Museum of Sardinian Musical Instruments' in the parish house, is extremely interesting, housing precious examples of the Sardinian musical tradition. The collection has around 400 instruments, among which the 'launedda", a melodic wind instrument, is particularly distinctive. As well as musical instruments, the Museum also houses firearms from the end of the nineteenth century and several daggers. A gold and silver monstrance from the early XIX century and a wooden Crucifix can also be admired, among the other objects which were once housed in the Church of Santa Maria of Boele, now submerged by the waters of Lake Omodeo. Furthermore, Tadasuni also offers its visitor suggestive panoramic views towards the blue stain of Lake Omodeo, where on certain days when the water level is low, the emerging remains of nuraghe and petrified-looking trees can also be seen. The religious events that unite the inhabitants of Tadasuni are mainly represented by the Feast of San Michele, every 29th September, and by that of San Nicola, celebrated on 6th December.
