Baradili

Within the village, a little fountain from the Nuraghic period is of great interest. It was dug into the rock and has undergone a number of modifications in later periods. In the centre of the village the Church of Santa Margherita preserves inside, several fine wooden statues of 'Santa Restituta', 'San Pasquale', 'San Sebastiano', 'Santa Margherita "dei sette vestiti"(of the seven robes), 'Sant' Emiliano', 'San Giuseppe with Child', 'San Francesco Saverio' and the crowned 'Madonna della Candelora' with a crowned Child. Of all the feasts , the 'Ravioli Festiva', held in the middle of July, is very popular. It takes place on the occasion of one of the three feasts dedicated to Santa Margherita. According to legend, the origin of the 'Ravioli Festival' is linked to an episode from the ancient past of Baradili: the statue of Santa Margherita had been lost but was found by three boys on their way home. They took the little statue of the Saint back to the church where they found the parish priest about to sit down and eat a plate of ravioli. Such was the joy of the priest that he invited the boys and all the locals to eat with him. Ever since then, the feast of Santa Margherita "Agattada" (found) or 'is Cruguxionis' (ravioli) has been celebrated.
