Bosa

A visit to the 'Casa Deriu' is most interesting; it is a country house from the XIX century and today houses the Civic Gallery with a collection by Melkiorre Melis, an artist from Bosa who is one of the leading exponents in Sardinia of twentieth century Applied Art. Bosa?s Carnival is also very suggestive with its very peculiar masks, among which are those of the women who make ' s'Attittidu' (a funeral lament). Near to the urban centre lies the huge beach of Bosa Marina, awarded 'Five Sails' by the 'Legambiente' (Environmental Association). The journey of the 'little green train' from Bosa Marina to Macomer is extremely fascinating; the train skirts the beaches of Pedras Nieddas and ascends the valley of the Rio Abba Mala towards Modolo, Tresnuraghes and Sindia.
