Assolo

The parish church of San Sebastiano in the inhabited centre deserves a mention. The saint?s feast, so dear to the hearts of the believers, is celebrated on 20th January with processions, music and dancing. On the outskirts of the village we find the Church of Santa Lucia. Excavations near the building have brought to light a number of tombs. Surrounded as it is by such suggestive scenery, Assolo offers its visitors evocative and spectacular views. The "Sa caddaia" waterfall, situated between the 'Giara' and the Giuerri hill, is surrounded by green, and was once the place where the women of the village used to come to do their washing. A number of springs with drinkable water are present in the area: 'Abamasoisi', 'GennaSobi', 'Cabirada' and 'Barracca 'e Chiccu Soi'.
