In the territory of Muravera, there are the lagoons of Colostrai and of Feraxi, situated in a lush pine wood which continues up to Torre delle Saline. They originated from the stagnation within the mouths of the rivers Picocca and Corraxe Pruna at the end of the 1940s, when the ending stretch of the river Picocca was diverted into a depression behind the dunes near the beach of Cristolaxeddu. The water here is shallow. However, there is rich vegetation around, as well as numerous birds like the common species of coots, ducks, cormorants, but also rare avocets, together with Kingfishers, black-winged stilts, flamingos, which are very rare in the eats coast of Sardinia.
