Nora was one of the first pheonician allocations founded in Sardinia, according to literary testimony and legend by an Iberian hero called Norace. The foundation and therefore life of the city began in the VIII century B.C., but it developed above all during the punic and roman period, trasforming into not only a commercial but also an administrative and religious centre. The ruins of Nora are an open-air museum, and the remains of the theatre are used for concerts in the summer.
