Chiesa di San Giacomo

The collegiate church of San Giacomo is a parish church in the historic Villanova district of Cagliari. It is located in Piazza San Giacomo, flanked by the prospects of the oratorios of the Souls and the Santissimo Crocifisso. San Giacomo is one of the four oldest parishes in the city. Erected probably around the XIV century in Catalan-Gothic style and restored in the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries, the church houses a wooden sculptural group and a terracotta Lament dating back to the fifteenth century, as well as a fine organ of 1769.
