Chiesa di San Francesco (XIV secolo)

The parish church is the only one in the small diocese of Ales-Terralba to be dedicated to SAN FRANCESCO D’ASSISI, one of the few to be preserved in the very simple style that characterized the parishes of the Diocese until 1600. The church is characterized by a central nave and the presence of three chapels all on the same side. In 1940 a chapel was added on the other side, "the men's chapel". There was a cemetery around the building and 11 tombs were found and exposed under the pavement, probably of the canons who were buried inside.
