Church of San Rocco (17th century)

The Church of San Rocco is one of the Sardinian religious buildings in the municipality of Collinas. In 900, when the plague epidemic struck all of Europe, the citizens of Collinas turned to San Rocco to eradicate the killing disease. Once the disease was eradicated, the citizens of Collinas placed in the hands of the statue of San Rocco a silver stick with the names of the victims of the plague written on it. The wooden statue of the saint kept in his church dates back to the 17th century.
