La Maddalena-Caprera, Museo del Compendio Garibaldino

Garibaldi's museum is composed of the different buildings and relics once belonged to the hero. Inside visitors can observe weapons, vexilla, the general's wheelchair and the original furniture. Some paintings are very interesting as well as the room where Garibaldi died, furnished with the bed facing Corsica and the English-manufactured watch fixed on 18.20, the time of death. Giuseppe Garibaldi arrived in Caprera for the first time on 25 September 1849, when, after his arrest, he was exiled to Tunisi. Bey was not prone to welcome him.
