Museo delle industrie litiche della Sardegna

Museum of Sardinian pre-historic and proto-historic lithic industries Situated at the entrance of the Cittadella dei Musei, in the Castello neighbourhood, the museum is organized into two collections of pre-historic lithic objects, formerly owned by the collections of the Laboratories of Sardinian Ancient objects and Paleontology, Humanities and Philosophy Faculty. The former and most consistent collection dates back to the pre-nuragic and nuragic period. It consists of a wide range of weapons and manufactured items made of smooth and chipped stone, mostly ossidiana and flint, from the archeological sites of the Campidano. The second collection, more scarce sizewise, consists of tools from the Stone age, particularly ' amigdale ', and of typical flint pebbles with double-sided chippings, of African and Mediterranean origin. http://www.sardegnaturismo.it/index.php?xsl=108&s=6736&v=2&c=3209&c1=2123&t=1
