A holy procession opens on Friday which re-enacts the burial of Jesus Christ. Christ is dead and represented as a wooden statue dating back from XVII Century. The women who belong to the “Association of the Holy? participate wearing black gowns. The men, who organize the event are from from the Brotherhood of Saint Monte and are dressed with long white gowns and large hoods. During the procession of Christ's funeral “is Baballotis? is also represented by children and adults dressed in long white gowns. Two children are dressed in Oriental style clothing interpreting the Evangelical characters Saint John and Mary Magdalen while Joseph of Arimatea and Nicodemo are represented by two “varonis? who carry a hammer and pliers.
