NURAGHE DIANA It is located in the municipal area of Quartu Sant Elena (CA). The nuraghe Diana derives its name from the Sardinian word "Janna" which means door. The nuraghe in question is a type of polylobate, and since it has three perimeter towers (one and the main tower) it is called a trilobate with a frontal addition. During the last world war the top part of the tholos was exploited for the creation of a reinforced concrete fort, a solution that probably preserved the nuraghe from the collapse. In fact, it is the only nuraghe of the municipality of quartu (and for many kilometers around) that can be visited internally. Particularly important because of the presumed construction in a unique solution, absolutely unusual in the Nuragic archaeological panorama, where most of the complexes were built adding towers on a more ancient nuraghe. Other architectural features make this complex a real gem.
